Strawberry Quartz

The name Strawberry Quartz comes from South Africa and is a pale pink and opaque quartz. This stone is very unknown and therefore has no mineralogical name. The best known finding place is in South Africa.

Strawberry quartz is formed at high temperatures from acidic, silica-rich magma. Its colour varies from colourless grey to pale pink and rarely red. The manganese it contains gives the strawberry quartz its colour.
