Staurolite
Staurolite means cross stone (Greek stauros=cross, lithos=stone) and denoted several minerals with cross-shaped twin formations or drawings. Synonyms are granatite, nordmarkite or fairy stone.
It is found in the Alps, France, Scandinavia, the Czech Republic, Russia, the USA, India and Australia.
Staurolite is reddish brown to brown-black, small splinters are blood red.
