Amulet stone Thunderegg star agate

Amulet stone is a name for star-shaped agates in rhynolite nodules. Also known as Donnerei, Thunderegg, Schneekopfkugel or Sternachat. Minerals and fossils in Europe and Asia with star-shaped appearance have always been regarded as talismans.

Amulet stones can only be found in volcanic areas, mainly on the east coast of Australia, but also in Mexico and the USA.

Amulet stones are dull, grey, green or brown tubers, which show the jagged quartz filling when cut open.
