Ammonites and shells in the bedrock
Millions of years old
Origin Madagascar
Size approx. 30 x 18 x 18 cm, weighs about 13 kg
This extremely decorative masterpiece of nature was worked out of the parent rock by hand in painstaking and careful fine work. The
visible ammonites and conch shells were polished just as carefully. The mother rock, on the other hand, is completely natural. The
surface of the ammonites is opalescent, the praise lines are very well defined.
We emphasize again: this is a naturally grown unique specimen, which was neither glued nor joined in any other way
Ammonites belong to the group of fossils (fossilizations).
Fossils are imprints or remains of plants and animals of earlier geological eras.
Ammonites are cephalopods with spirally wound shells.
Since many fossils were formerly used worldwide for cultic and medical purposes, there are many synonyms: Ammonite horns, ophites, saligrams, snake or slug stone.
