Ocean chalcedony or ocean agate
The often strikingly colorful rock comes from the northwest coast of Madagascar from the Mahajanga basin
also the name "ocean agate" is not to be rejected completely, since between the spherulitic
structures, there are always areas that occur,
that show some kind of agate banding. The trade name "ocean jasper" should however be avoided,
because this gemstone has little in common with jasper.
The most exact way to describe this material is ocean chalcedony
