Conglomerate

Conglomerates are formed when the debris, after being weathered by water, is only a few kilometres were transported and unrolled in the process. Softer components of the original rock are already strongly crushed, harder ones are only polished to round pebbles. If the sediment now forms, a non-uniform mixture of large round pebbles in a fine-grained matrix is created.
