Prasem stone

The name prasem referred to all base green quartz in the Middle Ages and still today. Prasem is a coarse or crystalline quartz, with green actinolite inclusions. Synonyms are leek quartz, emerald mother or emerald quartz.

Prasem is found on the Cyclades island in Greece, South Africa and Australia.

Prasem is trigonal and shows the colours grass- to leek-green.
