Gypsum
Gypsum probably takes its name from the Ethiopian. Its name came to Europe via Greece and Rome. Gypsum can be found in many places: Northern Germany, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Sicily and sand roses come from the Sahara.
Gypsum is monoclinic and occurs in many different types, for example in gypsum rose, marien glass, gypsum earth or fibrous gypsum.
