Zircon
The name zircon was introduced in 1789 by M.H. Klaproth. Synonyms for zircon are azorite, beccarite or calyptolite. Important occurrences are in Russia, USA, Brazil, Madagascar, Sri Lanka and Australia. Zircon is mostly brown to brown-red, more rarely it is colourless, yellow, orange, red, green, blue or violet.
