Larimar stone

Occurrence
Larimar is primarily formed by hydrothermal formation in corridors and crevices of a weathered
Basalts. As this basalt contains copper sulphide, the hot liquid dissolves copper ions from the rock, which give the resulting pectolite its bluish colour.
The only place of discovery is near Baoruco, Barahona province, Dominican Republic.
