Tiger eye
Tiger's eye got its name in the second half of the 19th century because of its fibrous structure, which in the right cut produces a wavy glow of light reminiscent of animal eyes. Synonyms are cat's eye quartz, quartz cat's eye and schiller quartz. Tiger's eye is often confused with hawk's eye.
