Rutile quartz
Rutile quartz is rock crystal and smoky quartz with enclosed visible golden yellow or copper red rutile fibres. As a mineral in its own right, rutile is rather reddish, and because of its colour it was named by A.G. Werner in the 18th century (lat. rutilus = reddish). Synonyms for rutile quartz are angel hair, hair stone or love arrow.
It is found in Brazil and Madagascar.
Rutile quartz is transparent and gold-coloured.
