Rose Quartz
Pink quartz and rose quartz are primary origins. Pink quartz forms from aluminium phosphate containing hydrothermal solutions on fissures; rose quartz crystallizes in large masses as pegmatitic formation at high temperatures. The only known occurrences of pink quartz are found near Governador, Minas Gerais/Brazil, the coarse rose quartz is found in
large deposits in Brazil, Namibia and Madagascar.
crystal system, appearance, colour
Pink quartz and rose quartz are trigonal, but only pink quartz forms small prismatic crystals
with often rounded edges. It is usually pale pink and transparent. Rose Quartz
appears as a rough mass of pale to intense pink colour. It is rarely transparent and
compact, but mostly only translucent and interspersed with many bright cracks.
