Rhodochrosite
The name rhodochrosite comes from the Greek rhodochros = rose-coloured. Johann F.L. Hausmann named it so in 1813. Synonyms are rose spar, raspberry spar, manganese spar or red brownstone ore.
Rhodochrosite occurs in Germany, South Africa, Peru, Colorado/USA and Argentina.
It shows the colours raspberry red, white and pink.
