Opalite
Opalite means "opal rock" (ancient Indian upala=gemstone, Greek lithos=stone). Opalite is a rock that is permeated by opaliferous substance. These sandy-toned sediments are also called goldlace opalite, honey opalite or moss opal. Opalite is found in Australia, Turkey and Madagascar.
Due to its iron compounds, opalite is yellow, brown or reddish in colour, rarely colourless.
