Moss agate
The stone has been called moss agate since the 19th century. Moss agate is a chalcedony with embedded streaks and moss-like drawings of green magnesium-iron silicates. Synonyms for it are moss jasper, volcanic jasper or cormite.
It is found in India, Burma and Botswana.
Moss agate is colourless, light blue or brownish and is interspersed with green streaks, threads or moss-like formations.
