Hematite
Hematite means bloodstone (Greek: haemateios = bloody). This stone got this meaning because it colours the grinding water red and has been used for thousands of years to stop bleeding and heal wounds.
Hematite is found in England, Sweden, Morocco, Russia, Brazil and the USA.
It has the colours red-brown to grey-black and when polished it appears silver.
