Hawkeye

Hawkeye got its name in the 19th century because of its fibrous structure, which in the right cut produces a wavy shimmer of light, reminiscent of animal eyes. Synonyms are Cat's Eye Quartz and Schiller Quartz. Hawkeye is often confused with tiger eye.

Hawkeye is found in South Africa and has the colours blue-black to blue-green with iridescent areas.
